Billboards + Features + Live Reads

In addition to radio spots, we have the ability for partners to be part of the broadcast via billboards, feature entitlements, or live mentions.

Partners will provide the text copy for these, and our team will either pre-record them, or will read them live during the broadcast. Feature entitlements are read by our play-by-play talent, with the partner sponsoring a certain segment of the broadcast or occurrence in the game.

Best Practices

  • For most companies, the copy should be conversational in tone – you don’t have to use perfect grammar, or even complete sentences – just write with the frame of mind that one person is talking to another.

  • It should be directed towards one specific audience (UAB Fans)

  • Stay away from “Hey UAB/Blazer Fans”

  • Include calls to actions such as “Before your head to the game”, “After the Game” or “While you enjoy the game”

  • Avoid listing phone numbers, unless they are “gimmicky.”

    • Example: 555-Frog would work, but telling someone to call 859-555-1234 is too long and complicated for fans to remember

  • Websites work and are easy to remember – but the “www” is not needed

  • Use your site address early in the spot and then remind at the end

  • We encourage creating different spots for different sports, as well as creating multiple spots (different audio) for each sport

  • Keep the spot simple – advertising multiple deals can get cluttered

  • Promoting one deal or giving a good overview of what your business can do  is more effective than repeating deal after deal to make a spot sound busy
